Level 2 Food Safety

Due to funding from the Copeland Community Fund and Awards for all we are able to offer this course for free to Copeland providers and at £40.00 for all other organisations.

About the course

This qualification will benefit anyone working in a situation where food is prepared, cooked and served. It is relevant to all catering operations and suitable for all food handlers to attend. Training will be assessed with a 30 question multi-choice paper with a pass mark of 20 at the end of the day.


Learning outcomes

 Firm grasp of the importance of food safety and knowledge of the systems, techniques and procedures involved

 Understanding of how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling)

 Confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers

 Legislation

 Food safety hazards

 Temperature control

 Refrigeration, chilling and cold holding

 Cooking, hot handling and reheating of foods

 Food handling

 Principles of safe food storage

 Cleaning

 Food premises and equipment
