Since the tender age of 15 Glen McAlpine has been part of the Cumbria Youth Alliance board of trustees. As he was too young to be a trustee Glen took on the role of Youth Observer.
Glen had become a true part of the team during his time with us and came into his own over the three years he has worked with us. Working closely with the trustees as an observer he has contributed towards discussion and debates that had significant impact to the organisation.
It has been a real privilege for us to work with him during this time and watch him grown and develop to fit this role in our organisation.
Since acting as our Youth Observer Glen has stated that he has found it has helped his personal development as well as increased his ability to articulate himself and understand the processes and functions of a board of directors.
Glen is since moving on in pursuit of a degree in management at Bath University, and he hopes one day to have the opportunity to work with other charitable organisations like he has done with the Cumbria Youth Alliance.
We at CYA wish Glen the best of luck for the future wherever it may take him.
