What it is:
First Steps to a Sustainable Future is a county wide project funded through the Youth Futures Foundation. Supporting Young People 16 – 24 either in transition from full time education or long term unemployed into the world of work or further education with a view to building a sustainable future and promoting a positive destination and reduce numbers of NEET
A program of one to one support, group work and a blend of face to face and remote delivery. Utilising a person centred approach, developing bespoke action plans to identify and address barriers to progression, skills gaps and training / development options, helping develop and realise career aspirations.
Working closely with employers and partner organisations to explore career pathways and provide work experience placements, tasters, or volunteering opportunities to give young people the chance to explore a variety of sectors without the weight of expectation, giving them a chance to impress, develop some core experiences, breaking down perception barriers, helping build confidence, form strong working relationships, better understand employer expectations, reducing potential inequalities.
