What is Young Self-Advocates Project?

This project works with young people with learning difficulties and/or autism aged 15-25. This project focusses on wellbeing, aspirations and transition. This project looks to develop self-advocacy skills, supporting young people to be confident in their own voice, representing themselves and ‘rooting’ that voice in shaping their future. Delivery consists of young person-centred activities, one-to-one support and targeted outreach engagement in schools and youth centres. Activities/sessions take place weekly, developing a regular young-person focussed safe space/time to talk and get used to having their voice heard.
